Ingredients
Propanediol
Propanediol is an emollient that provides a smooth and silky product texture, allowing for actives to be distributed evenly across the skin surface. It can be irritating at high concentrations, so we keep Propanediol concentrations below 0.20% in all formulas.
Resveratrol
Resveratrol is a plant-derived phenol that is produced by plants when exposed to stress. It has a two-part effect on the skin: reducing free radical damage and increasing antioxidant concentrations. When topically applied, resveratrol has been shown to significantly improve fine lines, wrinkles, and elasticity in 12 weeks.
Hyaluronate Complex (Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate)
This multilayered complex is a rockstar hydration system based on hyaluronates: naturally occuring sponges that hold as much as 1000x their weight in water. Four separate lengths of hyaluronates are included in this complex at equal concentrations. Shorter length hyaluronates plump by penetrate deep into the skin, while the longer lengths hold valuable moisture closer to skin's surface where moisture loss occurs fastest.
1,2 Hexanediol
1,2 Hexanediol is an emollient and preservation material that helps improve the lubricity of formulas while imparting gentle antimicrobial effects that keep formulas safe.
Squalane
Our sugarcane-derived squalane is similar in structure to the squalene found naturally in the skin. This oil has been shown to impart a plethora of positive benefits to the skin including improved hydration, repair of the skin barrier, and control of oil production, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Squalane in our products is found at a concentration of at least 1%.
Superoxide Dismutase
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is an enzyme that is naturally occurring across life. It is critical for the reduction of free radicals of superoxide, which cause damage to both cells and genetic material. Superoxide dismutase only has effects against superoxide and thus is formulated in concert with additional antioxidants to provide broad spectrum oxidant protection.
Water
Water is critical for life. We use it in our formulas because skin loves water and utilizes it to maintain structure and function. We don't believe in using water to add bulk to our formulas to drive down cost -- we use just enough to create ideal product textures and to allow the water-soluble actives in our products use to deliver their benefits to the skin. Without water, water-soluble actives are useless, making water an important ingredient in many formulations.
Snow Mushroom Extract (Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract)
Snow mushroom has been shown to improve skin hydration and support collagen production. It's used in concert with other moisturizers in our formulas to provide deep and lasting hydration.
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate
This naturally derived emulsifier helps to structure our formulas and provide the best active delivery and penetration possible.
Sodium Phytate
This natural chelating agent is an effective replacement for the potentially harmful chelator EDTA. We utilize Sodium Phytate to stabilize formulations so they continuously deliver stratospheric results.
Caprylhydroxamic Acid
Caprylhydroxamic Acid is a natural amino-acid based chelator that helps to prevent the buildup of harmful microbes in formulations. It's an effective alternative to preservatives such as phenoxyethanol which tend to cause irritation.
