Glycerin
Glycerin is a humectant that absorbs water. It's present in our formulas to aid in moisture retention and prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Glyceryl Stearate Citrate
This ingredient is the combination of citric acid and glyceryl stearate. It adds lubrication to the formula, allowing for the even spread of active ingredients. We source it from plants.
Rice Amylopectin
Amylopectin is naturally occurring biopolymer in the polysaccharide (linked glucose) family. It has the unique capability to form a hydrocolloid matrix which expands in the presence of water and retains actives within. As water in the matrix is absorbed, the matrix slowly releases the actives into the skin.
Lithothamnion calcareum extract
Lithothamnion calcareum is a red alga of the Corallinacea family that forms calcium carbonate precipitate in its cell walls. The resulting extract contains a high concentration of bioavailable calcium that has been shown to improve skin barrier function, relieve dry skin, and provide lasting hydration for many days after application.
Pentylene Glycol
Pentylene glycol is an emulsion stabilizer that helps to improve active delivery and acts as a mild antimicrobial. It can have mild irritation potential when used at high concentrations, so we keep the total concentration below 0.01%.
Hydroxyacetophenone
Hydroxyacetophenone is a remarkably effective antioxidant and skin soothing material that inhibitions an irritation causing enzyme called COX-2.
Isostearyl Isostearate
Isostearyl Isostearate is an emollient that improves the smoothness and lubricity of the skin. It is an excellent dispersing agent that helps distribute actives across the skin surface.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil
3-methoxybenzyl isothiocyanate and 3-methoxyphenyl acetonitrile contained in meadowfoam seed oil have been shown to protect from UVB damage in isolated human skin cell cultures Has been shown to act as an emollient that moisturizes and smoothes the skin
Palmitic Acid
Palmitic acid is an emulsifier commonly found in the palm plant, as well as in many meats, cheeses, and other food products. It's used in our products as a plant-based emulsifier that helps structure formulas and provide effective active ingredient delivery.
Passion Fruit Seed Oil
Maracuja Oil, also known as passion fruit seed oil, has a high linoleic acid content (>70%) which delivers potent moisturizing and restoration effects. In addition, Maracuja Oil contains lycopene and quercetin: two antioxidants that have been shown to brighten and smooth the skin.
Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6
Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6 is a structuring agent that suspends multiple actives in a matrix and delivers them evenly to the skin. We utilize this material to structure our complex systems of actives and ensure they are delivered to the skin efficiently and potently.
